Channel Tunnel

Channel Tunnel (1987-1989)
The Channel Tunnel was tunnelled from both the English side and French side of the English Channel. Eleven tunnel boring machines cut through the chalk marl over 31.4 miles to construct two rail tunnels and a service tunnel. Tunnelling commenced in 1988 and the Tunnel began operation in 1994.

Heathrow Terminals

Heathrow Airport Terminals (1988-1997)
Heathrow Airport is located 14 miles from London and is the worlds 3rd busiest airport. There are 5 terminals, each serviced by train tunnels.

Storebaelt Crossing
Storebaelt Crossing (1990-1991)
The Storebaelt Crossing is an 18 km long fixed link across Storebælt’s various Isands which are seperated by sea in Denmark. It comprises of two bridges and a tunnel and construction work took place from 1988-1998 to carry road and rail transport.
The motorway across Storebælt was opened in 1998 and the railway opened in 1997. The East Tunnel was built between 1988 and 1996 for rail traffic. It is 8,024 m long and comprises two separate tunnel tubes with one track in each.The two tunnel tubes are connected by 31 cross passages which offer an escape route to train passengers should a problem arise. Four boring machines were used to bore the East Tunnel between 12-75m beneath the seabed. Eaves supplied the Tunnel Liners between 1990 and 1991.
Waterloo
Waterloo (1993)
At 1.47 miles long, the Waterloo and City Line is the shortest underground railway line in London.
Eaves supplied the SGI Tunnel Liners for the Waterloo line in 1993, at the same time when ownership of the line transferred to British Rail.
Jubilee
Jubilee (1994-1997)
The Jubilee line is 22.5 miles long and was originally opened in 1979 as part of the London underground system. Construction of the Jubilee Line extension commenced in 1993 and was completed and opened in 1999. The project involved the construction of ten miles of totally new railway line and six new stations.

The Bank line is part of the London underground tube/rail network.
